Andrey Romanov is a 200-hour certified Besa Hockey Skating Specialist and has been working with Besa Hockey since 2016. His energy and enthusiasm combined with his extensive hockey playing experience makes him an asset to Besa Hockey for helping players develop the necessary game combat skills taught through the Besa Hockey Skating System.
Andrey was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. He started playing hockey at the age of four and was groomed in one of the most famous hockey clubs CSKA - Moscow. At CSKA he was trained by many specialists from all over the world. One of those specialists was Besa Tsintsadze. Besa had such an impact on him that he decided to pursue professional skills coaching after his amateur hockey career.
At the age of 16, Andrey was invited to play 3 years in Canada for Junior Hockey Teams “Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks” and “Toronto Predators”. At this time he also completed special program at Hill Academy in Toronto.
Andrey has been training with Besa as a student since 2009 and since 2016 as a professional skating coach. He also has work experience as assistant manager with Ak Bars National Hockey Academy located in Kazan, Russia. Andrey is a Certified Skating Specialist for Besa Hockey Europe. In 2019, he went through USA Hockey Coaching Program where he received Level 4 Coaching Certificate.
In 2019, Andrey joined Georgian National Ice Hockey Team and has participated in IIHF World Championships where he and the team earned silver medals in 2022 in Iceland and 2023 in Madrid where National Team Georgia got a promotion to the next division.
Coach Romanov received Bachelor degree in Public Administration. He speaks Russian, English, and German.
Andrey is fond of extreme sports, such as: racing, ice cross downhill, water-skiing.
