Randy Chen was born and raised in Etobicoke, Ontario and began playing hockey at the age of five. Randy has been a student of Besa Hockey since 2006 and played his minor hockey career in the GTHL & OMHA, to Jr. C (PJHL) and AP’d Jr. A in the OJHL.
Starting in 2018 Randy began his training as an assistant coach, and Besa trained him personally and extensively in all the details of BESA Hockey Skating Techniques and other aspects of our trademarked brand. In August of 2022, Randy completed the 200-hour Certification Program and became an Official Besa Hockey Skating Disciple in Canada.
Since completing his certification, Randy has worked with hundreds of players in Ontario, helping them to master their hockey Skating skills and implement those skills in game situations to build awareness and confidence when it counts most. Coach Randy has worked with several players ranging from the age of 9-17 years old within the GTHL & OMHA where he previously played, but also works alongside the U10 Waterloo Wolves & Guelph Gryphons. He continues to learn and grow as a disciple and Besa Hockey Coach as he keeps his focus on player development and progression.
Randy has recently completed his undergraduate degree of Political science and North American studies at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Coach Randy enjoys spending time with his family & friends, working out, and golfing.
